Stormy Peters

Stormy Peters is an open source advocate and expert at helping companies and communities navigate the world of open source software.

With a long standing career in educating and advocating for open source software, Stormy has helped numerous organizations set up and build out open source software communities as well as internal processes for making open source software decisions. She built Cloud Foundry's Ambassador program while serving as VP of Developer Relations at the Cloud Foundry Foundation. She built up and led Mozilla’s 7000 strong developer network, served as Executive Director of the GNOME Foundation and worked OpenLogic where she set up their OpenLogic Expert Community. Before that, at Hewlett-Packard she founded and managed the Open Source Program Office that is responsible for HP’s open source strategy, policy and business practices.
 
Stormy has been a leader in the open source community efforts through multiple positions and philanthropic projects. She is a founding member and director of Kids on Computers and served as its first President. She has also served on numerous board of directors and advisory boards such as the Software Freedom Conservancy and Humanitarian Free and Open Source Software. 

Stormy graduated from Rice University with a B.A. in Computer Science.
